Bibliography: Tolkien and Film
December 20, 2021 MLA International Bibliography Search
Disclaimer: I found an old file with the 214 (!) results of a Modern Languages International Bibliography search for ““film” and “Tolkien.” The format for citations differs from other bibliographies here because the list was generated in December 2012, using the default MLA style current then (the MLA format for citations has changed fairly drastically since then, but I do not think I have time/energy to go through and edit over 200 citations). I will probably be adding new citations (though I have the sense that scholarship on LotR has not been growing, and there was not much on the HOB. But if you have published or know of publications (academic scholarship or fan meta) that you’d recommend, feel free to drop links or information in the comments.
