Expanded/Remastered LOTR in Theaters

Hello all: This post will not count toward my new resolution to post at least once a week (and I am starting to draft my power on Amy Amendt-Raduege’s The Sweet and the Bitter, which will probably drop Sunday).

But I could not resist sharing this news which I just saw today (yes, I have the tickets already!): the extended and remastered version of The Lord of the Rings is being released June 8, 9, and 10 this year (US theatres only afaik)!

Clearly, it is My Duty! to see it and report back although I also hope we’ll be able to have a roundtable or paper session at one or more of the Tolkien conferences in the next year — I can definitely schedule something for the Tolkien Studies Area, PCA, in New Orleans, 2025!
